CHARLES’S LAW APPARATUS
Charles’s Law Apparatus is designed for the demonstration of the relationship between volume and temperature of a gas at constant pressure. It consists of a borosilicate glass U-shaped tube with a graduated bulb, a third limb, rubber tubing with pinch clip, and a tall-form beaker with stirrer for controlled heating.
- Glass Tube – U-shaped borosilicate glass tube, approximately 15 mm diameter
- Plain Arm – 220 mm long
- Graduated Arm – 20 mm long, graduated 25–35 × 0.2 mL, terminating in a 37 mm diameter bulb
- Third Limb – Approximately 185 × 6 mm, attached at right angles to the U-tube
- Connection – Short glass tube through rubber stopper with rubber tube and pinch clip
- Heating Bath – Tall-form beaker of 1000/2000 mL capacity with stirrer
- Material – All glass parts made of borosilicate glass
- Application – Demonstration of Charles’s Law and the relationship between gas volume and temperature at constant pressure.
