BOYLE’S LAW APPARATUS, LOW PRESSURE
Boyle’s Law Apparatus, Low Pressure is designed to demonstrate the relationship between the pressure and volume of a fixed mass of gas at constant temperature. It consists of two glass tubes connected by flexible pressure tubing, adjustable sliding brackets mounted on vertical support rods, and a graduated meter rule for accurate liquid-level measurement.
- Glass Tubes – Two glass tubes; one open at both ends and one closed at the upper end
- Mounting – Tubes mounted on vertical support rods with adjustable sliding brackets
- Connection – Flexible pressure rubber tubing connects the two tubes
- Scale – Meter rule graduated 0–100 cm × 1 mm, reading in both directions
- Base – Stable cast-metal base with leveling screws
- Application – Demonstrates the relationship between pressure and volume of a given mass of gas at constant temperature
- Working Fluid – Requires mercury for operation; mercury not included.
