The U-Shaped Electromagnet with Hook consists of an iron U-shaped core of circular section, fitted with an armature and carrying hook. It is wound with 0.46 mm insulated copper wire with 250 turns and provided with two 4 mm sockets for electrical connection. The electromagnet is designed for operation on 4–6 V DC and is suitable for physics laboratory experiments and demonstrations involving electromagnetism.
